We seek a highly skilled 5G Consultant to spearhead the integration of 5G network requirements into the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) project specifications. This role is crucial for developing bid packages that are comprehensive, technically sound, and aligned with the MTA’s strategic objectives for CBTC deployment. The ideal candidate will possess 5G technology, telecommunications, CBTC systems, and technical specification writing expertise.

Responsibilities

1. 5G Strategy Development and Implementation:
   • Support the establishment of a detailed 5G strategy for inclusion in MTA’s CBTC systems.
   • Assess current communication infrastructure to identify areas for 5G enhancement.
2. 5G Network Requirements Specification:
   • • Lead the development of 5G network requirements for CBTC systems.
     • Review the status of the requirements on Crosstown line and participate in design gate reviews as necessary.
     • Write and integrate these requirements into CBTC project specifications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, feasibility for inclusion in bid packages, compatible with the problematic of interoperability and considering the on-going deployment activities on Crosstown CBTC Project.
   • Collaborate with technical and procurement teams to ensure specifications meet technical and operational needs.
3. Bid Package Preparation:
   • Contribute to creating comprehensive bid packages with clear and detailed 5G network specifications.
   • Work alongside procurement specialists to ensure bid documents are complete and aligned with MTA’s procurement standards.
4. Project Management and Collaboration:
   • • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders within MTA to ensure seamless integration of 5G solutions.
   • Manage timelines and deliverables related to the specification and bid preparation processes.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
   • Oversee the quality of technical specifications to ensure they meet industry standards and MTA requirements.
   • Ensure that 5G implementations comply with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications, focusing on 5G technology.
• Demonstrated experience in technical specification writing and bid package preparation.
• Knowledge of CBTC systems and their communication requirements.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with MTA or similar transit authorities.
• Certifications in 5G-related telecommunications or related fields.
