APITAL is proud to partner with Atkins-HNTB in providing general engineering services for the MTA’s Fulton–Liberty and Sixth Avenue/63rd Street communications-based train control (CBTC) initiatives. Following the Fulton–Liberty contract award in 2025, work on Sixth Avenue/63rd Street continues, with an award anticipated in 2026 based on the project team’s forecast.
These major signal modernization projects mark important progress toward more reliable subway service and improved capacity. They also demonstrate the engineering collaboration needed to modernize complex transit networks.
