APITAL Partners with AECOM to Support Critical MTA CBTC Projects

APITAL has received MTA approval to work with AECOM on the Eighth Avenue and Queens Boulevard East (QBL East) communications-based train control (CBTC) projects. As both projects advance through critical system integration, testing and preparations for cutover into passenger service, APITAL will contribute its signaling and CBTC expertise to support these important milestones.

The projects form part of New York City Transit’s broader signal modernization program, where compatibility between systems, rigorous testing and coordinated deployment are essential to successful delivery. CBTC technology supports more precise train control, helping improve reliability and enabling trains to operate closer together safely.

Working alongside AECOM and the project teams, APITAL is committed to supporting a safe, dependable transition to modern signaling—helping strengthen the subway system that keeps New York City moving.
